There are no major surprises for our September market. As we transitioned into fall (back-to-school, final summer trips, and such), the slowdown from the summer usually lingers. However, the lower rates gave the market a bit of traction, which is why we’re only seeing slight dips (except for closings).
These indicators remind us that our market is not imploding but is stabilizing. We remain a sellers’ market, but buyers are now in the best position in years to negotiate. With many people distracted by the elections, our competition could be even lighter for the next few weeks. However, sellers, historically, buyer demand rebounds once the elections are over.
